outlook 2010 .pst file won't save to folder

Specs: Windows 7
I have Outlook 2010 on Windows 7.

I currently have two calendars in Outlook which I want to merge into one.

I have been following the help instructions which tell me to export one calendar to a folder and then import it into the other calendar.

I have repeatedly gone through the export process, but no matter where I try to save the .pst file, it does not show up when I go looking for it to import back.

I have been careful to make sure that the file is saved as a .pst, and I have tried saving it in my outlook folder and to my desktop, but it just disappears.

Any ideas?

Try saving it in My Documents

I finally made it work by applying a password to the file I was saving (it said it was optional, but apparently not).

After that, it showed up in the folder I had saved it in, just fine and I was able to import it without any trouble.

Go figure. Thanks for trying to help, though :)
