Go into the Windows Control Panel and click on Mail. Click on the E-mail Accounts button and you can set it in there.

Are you saying the Gmail Help isn't helpful? Did you look at the options for Configuring for third party clients/devices? Are you configuring Outlook for POP or IMAP? What settings are you using in the Manual configuration?

Hello Derek .... Sorry to inform you but the link that you gave me was bit confusing and i did not understand how to reconfigure .... more over a few days back i got a mail from Google stating that my Gmail account has been tried to hake .... and it further prompted saying that would you like to make your account more secure to which i clicked yes ... hence then on every time i try to sign in to my gmail a/c i receive a text msg on my cell phone with a code and i will have to enter both my password as well as the code that i receive on my personal ph no .... i wonder if that is what is causing some problem......

Sounds like it was a bogus email (they are made to look like the real thing) so you might now have a virus.

Start with downloading, installing and running MalwareBytes freebie from here:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_m...

Let it fix all it finds and let me know if it unearths anything much.

Never click links on emails involving accounts - always use the email address you use normally to check up on things. If it said something like Dear Customer rather than your name then it was definitely a scam.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
