Solved Nuance Paperport 12 help

Specs: Windows 64
G'day,
I have Paperport 12 Standard which appears to work fine, even in Windows 8 with one exception: it will not recognise the scanner function in my Canon MP450. Paperport 12 reports that the default scanner is not attached.

When setting up the scanner, the only way to get the scanner working is to use TWAIN:WIA-Canon MP450; but this will not be set to the Paperport programme.

I have a series of screenshots but need directions on how to upload to your site.

Unsurprisingly, Nuance in their ignorance refuse to assist.

Regards,

Royce

The problem is that the Canon MP450 is not officially supported on Windows 8, on the scanning side at least. There is no Windows 8 driver for that model on the Canon website, so you are probably using the Windows 7 driver.

Though Windows 7 drivers are known to work on Windows 8, there is no guarantee that they will be totally compatible, hence your problem.

You can't post screenshots directly on this forum. You have to upload them to a file hosting service, then post the URL here.

Thank you for your prompt reply. It explains all as it is only Paperport and SmarThry Office that do not work. Everything else is okay with Win 7 64 bit drivers.
Best regards,

G'day Phil,

Are you aware of any work-arounds to get the MP450 Scanner working? Maybe some othe scanner driver would do?

Royce
