Nested mid in sumifs

Specs: Android
I want a workable formula, I tried
=SUMIF(A2:A4,"?6??",C2:C4)
to find sum of locations having 6 as its second character in a various locations I.e. 2600, 8250, 1260, 6630, 4200, 6100, 3610, 2620, 5160, 4610
I want sum of locations of 2600, 6630, 3610, 2620, 4610

The use of the Wildcard characters ? and *
DO NOT WORK ON NUMBERS, only text

DerbyDad03 stated this in his last reply:

=SUMIF(A2:A4,"?6??",C2:C4) works for me as long the referenced cells contain 4 characters and is recognized as a text string.

So you can either change your numbers to Text or use the SUMPRODUCT() function I posted.

all locations mentioned are of text nature jusk like pin code.
Even after the formula
=SUMIF(A2:A4,"?6??",C2:C4)
not working

How did you convert the location numbers to text?
