Solved Nested formula IF and VLOOKUP

March 27, 2020 at 11:00:49
Specs: Windows 7
I have a (master list) of account numbers on tab 1 and a second list on tab 2. I want to check the account numbers on tab 2 against tab 1 to make sure all of the accounts on the master tab (tab 1) are listed on tab 2.If found then result should be an "x". Data location is below

Tab 1 - tab name is Master. Account #s are in cell D4:D81
Tab 2 - Account to be searched D4 on the same sheet as where I want the result to be displayed (the x)

I am going to drag the formula down as I need to perform this VLOOKUP on the same sheet for 60 lines.

Thank you!

Try this in SHEET2!E4:

=IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP(D4,Master!$D$4:$D$81,1,0)),"","x")

In English:

If the VLOOKUP returns a #N/A error (item not found) leave the cell blank. If there is no #N/A error (item found) return an "x".
