Read up on Conditional Formatting in the Excel Help files.

You can set up Rules (or Conditions, depending on what version of Excel you are running) such as:

=AND(B1>25, C1="MyText")

Whenever the Rule evaluates to TRUE the Conditional Formatting will be applied.

Click Here Before Posting Data or VBA Code ---> How To Post Data or Code.

Actually that was not my next question sorry...but your answer t9o my first problem was spot on..again my REAL problem is my TEXT column, Column C, i need to validate the rule to if a specific word is in the cell...not just one word other words i am look to see if CARS (for instance) is in that cell in a string of words ....anywhere...

value of Column C Row 1 = green cars
value of Column C Row 2 = green trucks

i need the rule to change "Column A row 1 or 2" RED based on if CARS shows Column C
