Trying to do a formula for Vacation days. FT=15days, PT=10days, CN=0 days Job status is on B I can not figure it out

When posting in a help forum such as this, please try to use a subject line that gives the readers some idea about the specific issue you are having. If every thread had a subject such as "How to write an Excel formula" we wouldn't be able to tell one thread from another and the archives would basically be useless.

As for your question, I assume you are trying to have a cell display 15, 10, or 0 based on the contents of B1. An Nested IF statement can do that:


This assumes that B1 will always contain FT, PT or CN.

If it might contain another value, or even be empty, then you need to deal with those situations. For example, this will produce a blank cell unless B1 contains FT, PT or CN:

=IF(B1="FT", 15, IF(B1="PT", 10, IF(B1="CN", 0, "")))
