Here's how in Word 2010:

1. Click File.
2. Click Options.
3. Under "Proofing", click the "AutoCorrct Options" button.
4. Check that the "Capitalize first letter of sentences" checkbox is checked.
5. Click OK.
6. Click OK again.

It should automatically do that at the beginning of each sentence. Now, just to be clear, you try to manually make it a capital letter and it works or..?

What version of Office are you using or does it do this with everything?

The Word won't recognize the beginnings of all sentences. It has built in rules to tell the program when to capitalize the letter. Either:

1. This feature got disabled and can be re-enabled through the settings.
-or-
2. Word isn't recognizing the sentences that you type, and doesn't know what to capitalize.

Mouse could not be found. Click OK to continue.
What to do now?

This is for 2007, 2010 should be similar:

1. Click the Microsoft Office Button
2. Click Word Options at the bottom of the window.
3. Click Proofing.
4. Click the AutoCorrect Options button.
Make sure the box is checked next to the Capitalize First Letter of Sentence
