Solved Multiple values for single dates that need to be averaged

Specs: Windows 7
I have multiple (between two and six usually) temperature values for single dates. I need (1) a way to average the values for each date; (2) to put the averaged values in a column next to the appropriate date so they are in the same row and there are no duplicates.

It is a large quantity of data that perhaps requires some kind of batch code that I unfortunately do not know how to write. Is this possible using Excel 2010? Thank you!

One way I found to resolve this is to use the AVERAGEIF function followed by the Data tool "Remove Duplicates". One can use the date as the "criteria" and make use of the $ in the formula before dragging. Then one can remove duplicates from both columns. I copied and pasted the temperature values into another column just to be sure. This worked well for me.
