Can anyone help me i'm trying do the following condition in one cell:

In cell H2:
If J2 = Area1, return a value of 14
If J2 = Area2, return a value of 14
If J2 = Area3, return a value of 14
If J2 = Area4, return a value of 14
If J2 = Area5, return a value of 14
If J2 = anything else return a value of 28

and it's driving me crazy.

Thanks

Excel help
"Testing whether conditions are true or false and making logical comparisons between expressions are common to many tasks. You can use the AND, OR, NOT, and IF function to create conditional formulas".
For more information repost in the Office Software forum.

Hi,

Thanks for the info, as you can probably tell, I'm new to this.

Having problems re-posting in the office software forum as it won't let me post the same message in two areas and i'm not sure whether I can change the forum this message is posted in.

Finally worked out the answer for myself:

=IF(OR(J2="Area1",J2="Area2",J2="Area3",J2="Area4",J2="Area5"),14, 28)
