Ms access 2007 error 3163

March 1, 2011 at 10:59:17
Specs: Windows 7
I am running ACCESS 2007. I had a table with a Data Type of TEXT with a size of 20. I used a form with a combo box to enter data into the field. After several records, I decided to increase the size of the field to 30. I went into design mode of the table and increased the size to 30. And added several more records to the table with a size of 25. Now, when I select a record with the increased size, I get... "The field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add. Try inserting or pasting less data." (ERROR 3163).

After I changed the field, I ran the Compact and Repair Database option.
Any help would be appreciated.

... but did you change the size of the output box? or txt box for data entry?

I would check again. This is an error for the control not the table.

Thinking on this: Let me add to check the column widths of the combo box in case it is a horizontal issue. If it is a vertical issue, you may need to use an SQL statement to fill the box, but if memory serves the combo box has a limit on how big vertically - check the height and width of the combo box in the properties too.... Let me know ... I'll keep thinking on this one.
I'm still learning everyday.
