Solved moving a whole cell into part of another

Specs: Windows 7
I have a cell that has 3 letters. I need to move these 3 letters to another cell but replace the first three letters of the other cell with the three letters I am moving

I have to move KCT to a cell that has KPO_ALC_SH_02 (but replace the KPO with the KCT)

This cannot be done in the cell that currently contains the text unless you use VBA (a macro).

If you are willing to use another cell, then this formula should work:

With KCT in A1 and KPO_ALC_SH_02 in B1, put this formula in C1:

This will concatenate the value in A1 to the "right side" of B1, minus the first 3 characters of B1.

thank you but that didn't work. When I add the =A1&RIGHT(B1,LEN(B1)-3) to C1 and it enter it comes up as ITEMM SOURCE?
