Microsoft advised me as follows:-

To access Microsoft Office Starter 2010

Click on "Start"

Click on "Control Panel"

Click on "Programs"

Then click on "Programs and Features"

Select " Microsoft Office 2010" from the "Programs & Features" list and click "Uninstall".

If you did not uninstall it, you should still have it.
You may have simply lost the shortcuts.

Select Start
Select All Programs

Scroll down and see if there is a folder for it.

If there is a folder, simply open the folder,
right click on the programs and select Send To and select Desktop

Hi alfiebear,

Microsoft removed all download links to Microsoft Office 2010 Starter thus there is no official source to re-download the product.

Microsoft Office 2010 Starter is however completely obsolete you may use Microsoft Office 2013 Web Apps for free which contains all the functionality of the Microsoft Office 2010 Starter software. You may refer to the link mentioned below:

All that remains on my Control Panel are:
Microsoft Office Starter To-Go Device Manager 2010
" Word Starter 2010
and " Excel Starter 2010

I needed Office Starter 2010 to view documents that were E-mailed to me.

If push comes to shove then there are freebies that will handle doc files just fine - such as Open Office or Libra Office.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
