Merging Workbooks

Specs: Windows XP
Does anyone know how I can merge two workbooks? I have tried sharing them and then merging, but I get this message:

"Weekly Report (05.10.10)A.xls cannot be merged into the current workbook. Workbooks to be merged must be copies made from the same shared workbook, and must all maintain the change history for a sufficient amount of time."

What I am looking for, is a way to merge my report that I export from Salesforce into an Excel spreadsheet from Week1 into the spreadsheet from Week 2 so that I can track what changes have been made during the week.

Any suggestions? Sorry if that is unclear.

You can only merge copies of the same shared workbook, not 2 different workbooks that have been shared.

The theory is that you can make multiple copies of the same shared workbook, distribute it to multiple users and then bring them all back together to see what changes have been made by each user.

So in order to use the Compare and Merge feature, it sounds like you would need to have a workbook that contains both Week One and Week Two, which you would Share and then Copy.

Then you would make changes to one of them and use "Compare and Merge" to compare it to the other.

From some reason I'm guessing that that is not what you want to do.
