Normally if we enter =1000 + 250 in a cell, we get 1250 in return. But if i have the following text as well as the mathematical expression in a single cell ; "The Diameter will increase like D = 1000 + (2 * 300) = 1600"

I want the excel to calculate the expression by itself when i hit enter after writing the above expression in that cell as here i had manually calculated and had written the result.

Any Help ?

You can use either the Concatenate Operator, the ampersand: ="The Diameter will increase like D = " & 1000 + (2 * 300)

or the CONCATENATE function:

=CONCATENATE("The Diameter will increase like D = ", 1000 + (2 * 300))

I believe that most users would use the operator method. In both cases, you must enclosed any text strings in quotes.

So far so good. Thank you very much. But it cannot fully satisfy the needs. I want it to show

"The Diameter will increase like D = 1000 + (2 * 300) = 1600"

wherein the solution given shows only

The Diameter will increase like D = 1600

Thank you once again. But i got it. ="The Diameter will increase like D =1000+(2*500)= "&1000+(2*500)

This will give the exact statement.
