Specs: Windows 7
what i am trying to do is to add a macro that will take information from cells 'A1' and 'B1' and use them to create a hyperlink in cell 'C1'. for instance, 'A1' is the address, 'B1' is what i'd like to appear in the cell, and 'C1' is where i would like the finished product to show. i have a little over a thousand of these that i need to get through, any ideas?

With this in A1,

http://www.computing.net/forum/office/1.html

and this in B1:

Office Forum

and this in C1:

=HYPERLINK(A1,B1)

I created a link that displays Office Forum which, when clicked, brings the user to this forum.

do you know of any way to do this with a macro so that 'A1' and 'B1' are no longer necessary? to conserve space on the spread sheet i'd like to be able to delete column 'A' and 'B' after my macro is complete.

Select Column C
Copy...PasteSpecial...Values

or

Select Column C
Ctrl c
Alt - e, s, v, Enter

Then

Select Columns A:B
Right Click the column headings
Choose Delete

I am new to this forum so it may be my bad, but what is the vb code for your script.

"With this in A1,

http://www.computing.net/forum/offi...

and this in B1:

Office Forum

and this in C1:

=HYPERLINK(A1,B1)

I created a link that displays Office Forum which, when clicked, brings the user to this forum."

There is no code. It's just the built-in Excel function HYPERLINK().

Look it up in the Excel Help files.

Click Here Before Posting Data or VBA Code ---> How To Post Data or Code.
