Looking for a workaround for quattro pro.

Specs: Windows 7 pro x64, AMD II Dual Core2.2ghz, 3 mb Ram
Trying to install Quattro Pro Ver 5 spreadsheet program to use various important (to me) financial files' I have in the past loaded this spreadsheet on x32 computers but when I attempt to install on this new 64 bit laptop HP 625 (x64) I get the following message:

"Check your computers system information to see whether you need x86(32 bit) or x64(64bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher"

Checked Corel/Borland and came up a blank. Looks like they don't have a 64 bit version.
Looking for a workaround. Know I can trade the computer for an x32 model. But if there is a simple workaround I would appreciate being pointed to it.

I Googled around a bit and found this suggestion:

Convert the Quatro files to xls files and then open them with Calc which is part of the free OpenOffice suite:

(The site appears to be down for the moment, according to the message from Oracle, but that's not usually the case.)

Of course, you would need a copy of Excel to convert them, so that might be a minor stumbling block. ;-)
