Specs: Windows 2007
Hello, We gave my mother a new Dell computer a year and a half ago. It turned out to be a bad decision, as she was in the early stages of dementia. She still uses her computer, but with increasing difficulty. It's important that we set it up for her to function as straightforward as possible--in other words, no "workarounds", error messages every time you open a program, etc. I would like to reinstall Word XP for her, as she was not able to learn Word 2007. From what I read, it appears that having both versions on her computer at once is a complicated option, and we need to avoid complications. Does a 2007 Windows OS support Word XP? Is the way to do that to just uninstall Word 2007 and then reinstall XP? Will that work, and, if so, anything I should know?

I'm not at her home at this time, so I don't have the CPU/Ram.

There isn't really a Windows 2007 version. What OS is installed? My guess is it's Vista, since you say it was purchased new a year and a half ago. Office XP technically should run okay on it. You'd need to a complete uninstall of Office 2007 first, then reboot, then install Office XP (2002.)

I'd also recommend making her account a limited one rather than an Administrator. Less chance that she'll accidentally do something that could increase file or OS corruption.

Good luck...
