i'm trying to repair my microsoft office 2003

Specs: Windows XP
I have an xp laptop and have accidentally deleted microsoft office 2003 professional. I tried to system restore but then none of the office stuff would work and I couldn't open existing powerpoint presentations etc. It also, now, doesn't seem to be able to read, write or burn cd/s as I put in the original disc and installed that but it has made no difference and keeps on asking for the original disc to be put in and not recognising that it is in the drive, thanks.

If you have the original install media,
then uninstall first
then do a clean install

See here:
