IF Statements for Days of the Week

Microsoft Excel 2004

Specs: Windows XP
I can easily use the numerical date format, but what I need is to be able to do an If Statement that relates to Monday-Friday, Saturday and Sunday for wages.
If the day of the week is a Monday the wage cost wil be 'x' multiplied by the hours in a cell.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Look up the WEEKDAY function in Excel help.

With 7/1/2010 in A1, =WEEKDAY(A1) will return 5 for Thursday.

Adding the return_type argument can force Monday-Friday to be days 1-5.

Something like this concept might work for you:

=IF(WEEKDAY(A1, 2)<6, Hours times x, Hours times x.5)
