IF formula when condition is a date

Hi,

I am trying to use the IF formula to display a value if the condition is a date. E.g. I have a date in cell A2, I want cell B2 to display Y if there is a date in A2 or N if there is no date in cell A2.

I have tried =IF(E13=yyyymmdd,"Y","N")

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Try this:

=IF(NOT(ISERROR(DATEVALUE(TEXT(A2,"mm/dd/yyyy")))),"Y","N")
