hi,

I have a question that is based on formatting?
at the moment I have something like this

basically I trying to have one line, where if there is a negative dollar amount it is red.

so the sentence read across the columns
a11 = has text, "original amount"
b11 = format number, negative value appears
red
c11 = has text less payments,
d11= has text, amount total repayments in red
e11 = has text and number
example ="amount left" &text
(c5,$#,###0.00")

can the cell c5 be changed to appear red?

if anyone can point me to the article to read, and tell me if it is possible?

thanks
DD

✔ Best Answer
Format your dollar amount as Currency, which offers an option for
turning negative numbers Red.

Select your cell with the dollar amount,
Right Click
Select Format Cells
Select Currency
In the Right Side Box, under the heading Negative Numbers
select the Red Numbers
Click OK

See how that works.
