✔ Best Answer
You want to Format your cell.

Select your cell and Right Click your mouse
Select the Format Cells option

Make sure the Number Tab is select,
and click on Date

Scroll down through the options and select the one you want to use.

Actually, you should change the cell format to Text not numeric or date format. Assuming you're using Excel.

Why should the cell be formatted as Text?

If the cell is formatted as Custom MMM dd the dates will appear as the OP wants and all of the Excel Date functions will still work.

Some Date functions will still work if the cell is formatted as Text, but I can't see any reason why Text makes sense since the OP is dealing with Dates and a date format that fits the requirements is available.
