Solved I keep getting message that I need to activate Office 2010

August 18, 2015 at 05:33:18
Specs: Windows XP, 2gb
I can't seem to get anywhere when I try to do so.
I can't readily explain the problem because the diallogue box won't allow me to perform any othet tasks until I've dealt with it, or closed the box until it comes up again next time.
I have about 15 days left.

Did you install the software yourself from media you purchased? If so, the installation key should be on the media.

How long has the software been installed, and was version is it?

What happens when you click to Activate?

Gidday, beachyhbt. Thanks for your response.
This has happened before, and the problem has been solved; once by remote assistance, and another time by myself in an inspired moment.
It's MS Office 2010 and was installed remotely in either 2012 or 2013 by a Canadian IT support company ( SolidTechies ?) who had buggered up my Office 2007 when trying to fix (remotely) a problem I had. They couldn't repair the damage they'd done to my Office 2007, so they installed Office 2010 for me.
Some time later, I got this "activate" message coming up, and I went back to them. Some-one took me through the process, and assured me that it wouldn't happen again.
It happened again about a year later, and I remembered what to do.
This time it's happened, and I couldn't remember what to do. But, last night in bed it came to me. So I jumped out of bed and wrote myself a note. And I've taken care of it this morning.
So, it seems I don't need help right now. But I appreciate your willingness to do so.

Good to hear the problem is resolved... Might be useful for (future reference) to know what the/your solution was?

I have Office 2010 Toolkit.exe on my desktop. It was left there by SolidTechies.
When opened, it displays a box with five tabs.
In the Main tab, there's a button - EZ-Activator.
I clicked on that button, and, after a little while, it told me activation was complete.
I closed Office 2010 Toolkit.exe, and the "You need to activate..." message hasn't been seen since.
I guess I'll have to do the same thing again in a year or so. Hope my old brain remembers what to do then.

Thank you for info... Though why you might have to go through it all again in year...? My Office 2010 suite activated once and that's it...; similarly Office 2011 (on a Mac)
