When I click on a blue hyperlink in a Microsoft Word 2010 document, I get the following notification:
This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.
I have tried several suggestions on various websites to enable me to click-and-connect, all to no avail. I've also attempted to set - in Set Program Access and Computer Defaults - the configuration from Custom to Microsoft Windows by temporarily enabling the built-in Administrator Account and the Command Prompt but the setting always reverts to Custom. I wonder if someone has any ideas of why I can’t open the links? I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit SP1.
Is it just Word that is giving you the problem? What browser is set as your default? Doing the best I can here... And remember, there's always more than one path to success. :)
Well Jenifer, it appears to be links only on saved Word (2010) documents. As I said above, in the Control Panel > Default Programs > Programs Access & Computer Defaults, 'Custom' is permanently selected - and some say this should actually be set to the 'Microsoft Windows' option. I have tried to select 'Microsoft Windows' but as soon as I close down the window, it re-sets back to 'Custom!' I have, of course, tried to do this as Administrator. Thanks for your kind reply - Pete

Install Google Chrome & set it as the default browser. After doing so (assuming you prefer IE11), reset IE11 as the default browser, then try your hyperlinks.
