Solved how to use IF statements when using Vlookup

Specs: Windows 7
I'm trying to figure out how to use the VLOOKUP and IF statement so when their is value to say "Yes" or "No" when there is no value.

VLOOKUP will return a #N/A error when the lookup_value is not found. Therefore, we can combine the IF and ISNA functions to determine if the value was found or not.

This will return No if the value is not found, Yes if it is:

=IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP(....)),"No","Yes")


If you want to return No when the value isn't found but return an actual value when it is, then this should work:

=IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP(....)),"No",VLOOKUP(....))
