Solved How to restore One Drive in win 10

May 29, 2020 at 03:36:57
Specs: Win10, Intel core i7 2600/ 4GB
As I thought I had never used One Drive and did not want MS any access to my data, I deleted One Drive. Now I find that Windows 10 has located all the Quick Access (that are the MS-Office files) folders NO LONGER on my PC as in Windows 7 but in their MS-One Drive.
After finding out this sneaky "privacy transgression" I created a small second D partition, taking a small part from my C drive. There I created a folder My Documents and want to restore the files I had in the One Drive Documents folder. I tried to temporarily restore the One Drive from Internet data, but did not succeed. Can one of the Computing.net members help me? Thanks in advance

"I deleted One Drive"

OneDrive can't be deleted or uninstalled from Win10. Did you turn it off?

EDIT: I misread the article: "The OneDrive app comes with Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 and cannot be uninstalled, but you can uninstall OneDrive from Windows 7, Windows Vista and some versions of Windows 10. OneDrive cannot be uninstalled from Windows 10 phones."

I seem to have deleted OneDrive. The only trace I see
is when I back out to the very top level of File Explorer,
there is a link to a nonexistant folder in my user folder.
The properties for the link show it as zero bytes. When
I click on it I just get an error chime.

Other than a re-install of Windows, I wildly speculate that
the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) might fix it. I have
not used it yet myself.

✔ Best Answer
If you just want to retrieve the files from OneDrive and store them on your local D drive, go to

https://onedrive.live.com/

and download them from there.

Thanks riider and THX38, these were in my view the best answers
I got into my One Drive, but until now I have not managed to download or copy my files I found there. I'll keep on trying to get them out
