how to remove adobe add-ins from MS Word

Specs: Windows XP
Adobe added two commands to the main MS word toolbar: "Adobe PDF" and "Acrobat Comments." I think this is causing problems with Word. I get an error message in Outlook that says i can't use Word as the mail editor because Word is missing, corrupt, ot a version not supported in outlook.

It worked until an Adobe update was performed.

I can find no way to get rid of these. Can you help?

I ran "Detect and Repair" on both Outlook and Word, and that solved the problem. Thanks anyway.
