Here is one way:

      A           B
1) Pitt         Bradd
2) Bradd
3) Jolie        Angelina
4) Angelina
5) Aniston      Jen
6) Jen
7) Selleck      Tom
8) Tom

Enter this formula in cell B1 and drag down:

=IF(ISEVEN(ROW()),"",A2)

The name list must start on an Odd number row
else it does not work.

If you want this

      A           B
1) Pitt
2) Bradd        Pitt
3) Jolie
4) Angelina     Jolie
5) Aniston
6) Jen          Aniston
7) Selleck
8) Tom          Selleck

Enter this formula in cell B2 and drag down:

=IF(ISODD(ROW()),"",A1)
