Solved How to create nested drop-down menus in Excel 2010?

Specs: Windows 10, 2.3/8
I am using a drop-down menu that has become too large; it now has over 60 entries. Are "nested" drop-down menus doable in Excel 2010? I was thinking of having the prime drop-down having four choices : A - F; G - M; N - S and T - Z. If the "A - F" choice is selected, the secondary drop-down would have all of the listings for "A" to "F"., etc.

I tried combining the drop-down procedure with SORT and FILTER but that didn't work.

Thank you.

It can be done, but I'm not sure it's the way you want. It will require three Columns
with 3 Drop-Downs

You could put the Main Drop-Down, A - F; G - M; N - S and T - Z.
in Column A

The Secondary Drop-Down: A,B,C,D,E,F for example
goes in Column B

Then when you choose a letter, from Column B drop-down,
the result appears in Column C

Is that what your looking for?

I get the impression you want everything in one cell,
which may be possible, but probably would need a Macro.

Here is a pretty good example of Dependent Drown Downs:

This site calls them Cascading drop downs,
and has a spreadsheet you can down load

mmcconaghy,

Thank you for your assistance. I am going to use the Dependent Drop Down procedure.
