How to change cell color based off another cell color

Hi,
I would like a cell, my total column which is column AA1, to automatically change color based off another cell color.
For example: IF A1:Z1 = Pink then AA1= Pink
IF A1:Z1 = Green the AA1= Green

etc. This will help me see everything that is still highlighted in pink at the end of the month is what I will need to accrue at the end of the month. Everthing in green we have already been invoiced for. Can someone please help! This is driving me crazy! Thanks :)

What ever is the Rule for turning your Total cell Pink or Green,
use the Same Rule for the other cell.

You could also tell the CF to use two separate cells by using a Comma
in the Applies To box, like

=$A$1,$C$1 ( =$A$1 <comma> $C$1 )

I currently don't have a rule for turning of my cells between A1:Z1 green or pink, I manually fill those cells with one of those colors (which I need to do) BUT I need my total column, column Z1 to automatically turn the color I put in one of those cells between A1:Z1.

How do you determine whether it's Green or Pink?

I color the cell green if we recieved an invoice and pink if we recieved materials but have not received an invoice, this will tell me at the end of the month that anything pink, I will have to accrue at the end is the month, anything green we have already been invoiced. I need my sum total, column AA1,to automatically turn Green if I color one of those cells green on that row OR pink if I color it pink on that row. Make sense?

Sounds like your going to need a Macro, as Excel formulas
can not determine a cell color.

Unfortunately my Macro skills are just above nil.

But, there are others on the forum who are very skilled with macros,
so hopefully the will offer some assistance.

I color the cell green if we recieved an invoice and pink if we recieved materials but have not received an invoice,

Besides changing the color do you also add a Received Date
or some other type of cell input that we could use?
