Perhaps you can give us some background.

Otherwise just lookup "Paste Special" in the Help files.

Enter the following in column A:
A1 ="Excel" (include the = sign in the cell)
A2 to A10 numbers 1 to 9
A11 =SUM(A2:A10)
A12 =LEFT(A1,A10-A8) & CHAR(A11-A2) & RIGHT(A1,SUM(A2:A3))

Right click A12, select copy
Right click B1 and select Paste Special...then 'Values' and 'OK'

B1 contains the required result.
