How do you make a cell with a formula in it appear blank? So that when you plot it in a line graph it doesn't show.

Try Hiding:

Select your Cell
Right Click the mouse
Select Format Cell
Select the Protection Tab
Check the box next to HIDDEN
Uncheck the box next to LOCKED
Click OK

Select REVIEW on the Ribbon
Select Protect Sheet
When the popup window appears, you can enter a password, or leave it blank.

Click OK
