Solved how do I delete or remove notepad from my computer

Specs: Windows 10
Notepad keeps changing my documents into goggle de gook. I want it removed. And try to get back Word.

What do you mean by "get back Word"? Has MS Word disappeared from your system?

Are you saying that all of your Word documents are opening with Notepad by default?

What is the extension on the documents? If they are txt files, then I believe they will default to Notepad. If they are doc or docx files and they are opening with Notepad, then you need to change your file association so that the doc and docx files are associated with Word.

NotePad is quite incapable of changing files and removing it is NOT the fix. That's a bit like "shooting the messenger". About everyone has NotePad on their system and they don't get your issue.

If Word documents are opening in NotePad then removing NotePad would mean nothing would open them at all. Sounds like you need to change the associations so that Word opens them instead, as per #1.

To help you properly we need more information, in particular the file types concerned (doc, docx, etc) and what Word Processing package you are using.

so .docx has been associated with notepad instead of ms word

right click the file, choose "open with" --> select "choose default program" --> look for ms word

Simple solutions are often the best
