Hide and Unhide rows in Excel 2010

September 2, 2013 at 13:18:22
Specs: Windows XP
Hello,
I am working on a workbook, what I need is to hide columns if the value is False.
In Cell F1 the customer has to put the number of a case this is state in another sheet, it says your number is: X, so when they go to the sheet where is the letter, they have to enter the number of their case. As soon as they put the number, ome infotmation will display depending on the values they selected in a Master Sheet.
If the information is a False, these rows should be hidden, but if another customer put another case number, the information that was hidden should be shown if is not a False or Hide another row if necessary. The rows that can display a False are from B40 to K80. I know that would be a Macro but I am pretty new on Macros, I will appreciate your help on this.

Your subject line says that you want to "Hide And Unhide Rows".

Your text first says "what I need is to hide columns" and then says "these rows should be hidden".

Finally you say "The rows that can display a False are from B40 to K80".

B40 to K80 includes both Rows and Columns.

It would be very hard for me to be more confused.

Please clarify what you are trying to do.

Hi,
Thank for your reply, what I mean unhide: is unhide the cells when they are not a False and hide them when they are False. The cells that could fall into a False are from B40 to K80.
What I need is when they have a text different from false it should be shown, when thay are FALSE, these cells should be hidden. The customer will put a number in F1, depending on the data in the Master Data sheet, these rows will have False or X Text.

re: "what I mean unhide: is unhide the cells when they are not a False and hide them when they are False"

You cannot hide/unhide "cells". You can only hide/unhide entire rows and/or entire columns. Obviously, if you hide a row or a column, all of the cells in that row or column will be hidden, but as I said, you can't hide just a cell.

That's why your original post is so confusing. Sometimes you say that you want to hide rows and sometimes you say that you want to hide columns

It's still not clear to me exactly what you are trying to hide/unhide: rows or columns.

Let me try to explain my confusion in another manner...

You said "The cells that could fall into a False are from B40 to K80."

Ok, so let's say G55 is FALSE. Do you want to hide Row 55 or Column G or both?
