Has Excel 2003 been degraded?

April 6, 2012 at 02:25:03
Specs: Windows XP
My excel 2003 will no longer copy and paste tables properly. It omits formatting and copies values rather than formulae. The "paste special" option now refers only to text and unicode, and the other options in the paste dropdown box are inactive. This problem started last month. There was a Microsoft update around this time. Have they degraded Excel 2003? Maybe to promote sales of the latest version?

I don't know, but I suspect if changes were made from the update that it has more to do with security then forcing us down the garden path.

Try doing a Detect & Repair.

On the Task Bar
Select Help
Select Detect & Repair.

You may need the original install media.

I have seen no degradation in either of my copies of 2003 or 2003 Pro.

If MS did something like that they would impact so many people and businesses that the uproar would be deafening.

Even MS isn't that arrogant.
