I have a quick question for an excel expert.

I have date as 07/01/2011
How do I format it to be July 2011?

Please help

You need a Custom Format:

mmmm yyyy

Select your cell
Right Click
Select Format Cells
Select Number Tab
Select Custom - bottom of category list
In the input box titled: Type
Delete what ever is in there, probably the word General and enter the above.

By the way, one friend of mine helped me with this formula "+TEXT(Cell,"MMMM)"
In this way I can keep the day in the data imput cell (07/01/2011) and in another cell have the text (July)

Just an FYI...

The modern day standard for an Excel formula is to use an equal sign, not a plus sign, when entering a formula.

If you use the plus sign, Excel will add an equal sign anyway, but the plus sign doesn't do anything, except make the formula look strange.
