Solved flagging a cell in Exel to give you an alert?

May 14, 2012 at 12:56:03
Specs: Windows 7
My cell now reads =K13/G13 which gives me a persentage of 56% remaining. I would like a function that triggers my cell when it reaches >75% left and turn the cell red as an alert. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Don't know which version of Excel your using, so this is for 2007:

1) Select your cell or Range of Cells
2) On the ribbon click Conditional Formatting
3) Click on New Rules, it’s near the bottom of the dialog box.
4) Click Use Formula to determine which cells to format.

5) Enter the formula: =K13/G13>=75%

6) Click on the Format button
7) Select the Fill Tab
8) Select your pretty color.
9) Click OK
10) Click OK

See how that works

Actually, if you go to Conditional Formatting Choose Highlighting Cell Rules you can choose everything under 25% highlight as red. Thank you and the only reason I found this was because of where you told me to look...: )

Yes, those are new in the 2007 version.
Just be careful if an older version, 2000 or 2003 needs to open the workbook.
