Solved fill one cel based on drop list

Specs: Windows XP
I have a number of questions over the next while but I will start with this. Using Excel 2003, I have one cel who's contents are determined by a named list using Validation. Depending on which value, A or B is selected, I want the text of another cel to change. In this case, I want to select Standard or Metric and where data entry takes place, have the column headers change to either Inches or Millimeters. I would need this to work on all versions of Excel from current to 2003.

Have you tried a simple IF function?

If your drop down is in A1, use this in your "column header" cell.

=IF(A1="Standard", "Inches", "Millimeters")

In your situation you asked for the contents of cell to be dependent on the item chosen from a Drop Down list.
