Specs: Windows Vista
I would like to take a gray scale photo from
Photoshop CS4 and convert is to an ascii file
and open it in excel as a series of numbers
representing black to white. I used to do this in
Graphic Converter program on a Mac, but I
have to use a PC now for my work. I tried
using .eps extension and then coding it as
ascii, but it doesn't open as numbers in excel
but just as a bunch of lines of code. I also tried
just renaming the .eps extension to .txt, but it
remains the same lines of code. Any
suggestions?

What kind of resolution are you trying for? At a byte a pixel files
will grow very large.very fast.

1 pixel high is not a picture. To get an array of numbers the
image file cannot be encoded or compressed.
