Solved Excell Date

Specs: Excell 2003
Hi there i have lists with the DD/MM/YYYY date format, but excell only recognizes the dates as mm/dd/yyyy and i cant get it to read the dates MM/DD/YYYY from the start


Date i receive it in is : 11/05/2011 and it is the 11th of May 2011, but excell reads it as 5th of November 2011, how can i change excell to read it as DD/MM/YYYY ?

For changing the date format , goto Right click>format cells> Date (Tab) and then you can change the date format.

If formatting the date within Excel does not work for you, you might need to use the Regional and Language Options Control Panel and change the default settings for how all applications will deal with dates.

Thanks guys, i saw that you need to change the whole computers date settings otherwise excel keeps on reading it in the incorrect form!
