Excel placing an X with stylus

Specs: Windows 7
I am developing a worksheet where employees will need to place only a X in a excel cell box. No formula just an X to indicate a yes or no status. I have tried to do it as a custom usage but have not been able to make it work......several people have given me "assistance" and non of it has worked .......Helppppppppppppp... and thanks

What do you mean by you've "tried to do this as a custom usage"? What is a custom usage? I have never heard that term used in relation to Excel.

I'm also not sure what you mean by "stylus". Do you mean a mouse?

Do you want them to click in a cell and have an X appear? Click again and have it disappear? Only allow one X in a set of 2 cells?
