Excel - Need colour to copy from another cell

Specs: Windows XP

I need a cell to have the same colour as another cell if it's greater than 0.

For example

A1 = 200 and is colour green

B1, C1, D1, E1, F1, could equal the 200 (say D1 for this example as it moves to a different cell dependent on the date). The rest would equal 0. I need the cell that the number is in to colour the same as A1 in this example green.

However B2 = 300 and could be yellow, in this line E2 = 300

C3 = 400 and is Orange in this line it's B3 = 400

I have 6 colours in all, and as you can imagine that having to reformat over 400 lines when the date changes and the cells all move along but the colour doesn't is quite a pain.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried Conditional Formatting?

On the Home ribbon is a Conditional Formatting wizard.

Select all of the cells that you want to match A1
Click Conditional Formatting...Highlight Cells Rules....Equal to
Enter =A1 and choose a format from the drop down.

Repeat for your other cells.

Yeah I tried the conditional formatting, the problem is the original cell can change colour i.e. from Yellow to Orange and then I have to change the formatting.

Also the conditional fomatting doesn't move when filtering. I.e. when new lines are added at the bottom the sheet is then filtered A-Z to incorporate those new lines.
