Excel Merge to Word Changes Dates

I have been searching in your past questions, but can't seem to find my exact problem. I am using Excel 2003 and Word 2003.The dates transfer correctly up to a certain point in the Word doc, after which the dates are ONE DAY and FOUR YEARS off. I have tried so many different things- ie changing date formats, changing the "1900" vs "1904"...... I can't even determine if it's the spreadsheet format that is wrong or the Word template. Any help is appreciated. Thank you, LuAnn

One option is to cheat: On the excel spreadsheet, put in a cell with the following formula (assuming cell A2 is the date in normal format).

=TEXT(A2,"dd/mm/yyyy")

use your specified date format. This will make the cell come in as text rather than as a date. As long as it appears correctly in Excel, it should transfer to your word document exactly the same.

Bit tricky otherwise. I know it's possible to save Excel with different date formats, but this is tied to an individual workbook. Are you getting data from two different workbooks? Might be worth re-saving them.

Hope this helps!
