Solved Excel - Maximum formula

September 9, 2013 at 18:48:52
Specs: Windows XP
I am trying to create a formula for the following:

Total no. of days: 3 (Cell: A1)
Cost for first 5 days: <formula> (Cell: A2)

<formula>: I want a formula that could capture A1, numbers ranging from 1 to 5. If A1 has a number more than 5, A2 should remain to 5 because the cost is calculated for only the first 5 days.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The IF function has this syntax:

=IF(logical_test, value_if_true, value_if_false)

=IF(A1>5, 5, insert your formula for when A1<=5)
