=SUMPRODUCT((C2:C412="Bad Information")*(D2:D412="Consent")) Above is the formula I'm using. I have Excel 2003 at work. I'm trying to count if a word in column C equals Bad Information then I need to count how many times the word "Consent" appears in column D. The only problem is that I have cells with more than just that word and excel won't count that cell. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Try this:

~~=SUMPRODUCT(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("*Consent*",D2:D412))*ISNUMBER(SEARCH("Bad Information",C2:C412)))~~EDIT:

Forgot the wild cards in the second section.=SUMPRODUCT(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("*Consent*",D2:D412))*ISNUMBER(SEARCH("*Bad Information*",C2:C412)))
