Excel IF Formula Question

Specs: Windows 7
I am subtracting two numbers and having the answer put into a seperate cell. I then need to take that number and depending on the answer place an X in the appropriate age column.

I did this so far and it is not working but I do know how to fix it. f2-e2 in column h2.
In column i, I wrote =IF(h2=1,"X") It is the if statement that I am having the error show what am I doing wrong.

There is nothing wrong wth your formula that would produce an error.

What error are you getting?

Make sure your formula is =IF(H2=1,"X") and not =IF(H2=1,X).
Without the " around the "X", you will get an #NAME? error.

Copying your formula directly from your post into a spreadsheet causes no error for me.

There's no reason it should.
