Solved Excel Greater than less than a % then equals another cel

April 4, 2017 at 16:54:00
Specs: Windows 7
If the % in my cell C16 falls in a range of 40-49% it would equal cell C31 If the % in my cell C16 falls in the range of 50-59% it would equal cell C32 If the % in Cell C16 falls in the range of 60plus% it would equal cell C33... How the heck do I put that in a formula?

What if the % is less than 40%?

This "Nested IF" should fulfill your requirements.

It will display "Less than 40%" if C16 is...wait for it...less than 40%. ;-)

=IF(C16>=60%,C33,IF(C16>=50%,C32,IF(C16>=40%,C31,"Less than 40%")))

You will note that I started high (>60%) and worked my way down. That is because a Nested IF stops as soon as it finds a clause that is True. If you start low (>40%) then the IF will stop for any value above 40%, such as 65%, and never test for anything else.

Derby you teach someone something new everyday, I didn't know that, I will keep this in mind the next time my formulas do not work. Thanks
