Solved Excel date format changed to yyyy/mm/dd

Specs: Windows XP
We have spreadsheets that many people use, and for two of us, all the date fields randomly changed to yyyy/mm/dd format. While we can manually change how it appears by using the format option, we still have to actually type the date in as yyyy/mm/dd. If we type 10/11/12 it changes it to 2010/11/12 instead. We have to type in 2012/10/11 to get it show up as 10/11/12 instead. One user is on version 2010 and one user is on 2007. Other users with 2003, 2007, and 2010 that use these same sheets are able to see and type the dates in the regular formatting of mm/dd/yy like it used to be without a problem.

How do the two of us that can't do that anymore fix it?

First thing that come to mind is to check your Windows System Date and see how that is configured.

It should be in Control Panel, Date & Time.

Thanks so much! That fixed it. Apparently it only happened to the two of us that have laptops during a recent system update.
