Excel database and skipping blank cells

June 24, 2016 at 20:50:10
Specs: Windows 64
I'm trying to create a database where I enter the information on a main page and it gets "tagged" to one of three other pages. For example, the input page would have column titles as follows:

Date Contact Name Email

Under "Contact" I would manually enter 1 of 3 people, with each person having a separate page. How would I pull the information just for each persons record? I can set it up with an =if function but then I have blank spaces in between as it returns a blank if it's assigned to someone else.

if I am understanding you correctly this is what you are attempting to achieve

You have four worksheets

Sheet1: Main Sheet
Sheet2: Steve
Sheet3: John
Sheet4: Mike

How would I pull the information just for each persons record?

So what you want to do is, enter a name in the Main Sheet in a cell somewhere, for example you enter 'Steve' now you want to pull some data from sheet 'Steve' and present it on the main page?

I maybe wrong but this is what I understood from your post, please describe your requirement exactly and keep in mind we cannot see your workbook from where we are so we need to know exactly what you have and exactly what you need. I don't think this is achievable with formulas, you will need a VBA solution.
